text-align: justify;"&gt;La música, además de estar ligada a una función religiosa, cortesana, militar, etc., sirve ‘’para distracción del pueblo’’.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A partir de la época clásica, la música ya no es sólo la inspiración de las musas, sino una ciencia con un conjunto de conocimientos sistematizados especialmente por Pitágoras.&lt;br /&gt;La teoría pitagórica llamada "teleion", perfeccionada en el siglo IV por Euclides, fue estudiada por todos los filósofos cristianos y será el sistema utilizado por toda la música posterior.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font-weight: bold; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;El espíritu idealista irracionalista de los filosofos griegos, así como la nueva visión del hombre, provocarán una concepción del arte y de la música radicalmente nueva.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;La base de la cultura occidental, puede concretarse en los siguientes aspectos:&lt;br /&gt;- El idealismo lleva al artista a buscar ‘’la belleza por si misma’’ liberando a la música de la funcionalidad a la que se hallaba sometida&lt;br /&gt;- El racionalismo busca una estética en la que la armonía y el orden sean esenciales para conseguir un resultado ‘’ bello’’; en la música la proporción se logrará a base de cálculos matemáticos&lt;br /&gt;- El espíritu humanista: ‘’el hombre es la medida de todas las cosas", hará que la música se ofrezca por primera vez al hombre para que disfrute de ella. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="font-weight: bold; es un fragmento de  inscipción epigráfica griega  hallado en una columna de mármol puesta sobre la tumba que había hecho construir Seikilos para su esposa Euterpe, cerca de Éfeso, en la actual Turquía.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;La estela que contiene este manuscrito representa un ejemplo en la forma de composición musical griega. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;El escrito contiene las siguientes palabras sobre las que se desarrolla la melodía:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;dl style="text-align: center;
